I guide people to create real nature in their own yard.
EDUCATION & BACKGROUND
I grew up camping and working in the family plant nursery. I hold a degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Florida.
EUROPEAN INFLUENCE
During college I studied outdoor design in Europe. I toured famous gardens to sketch and understand the masterful ways the architects used space around villas. Now days my old fashioned sketch book has morphed into an iPad. I sketch. nature gardens for clients that incorporate genus loci- its Italian for the feel of the place.
WORK
Early on I worked with design firms on projects in golf course design, residential design and a dab of urban design. These were all interesting, but didn’t grab my heart, so I began my own firm to design personal gardens for real peole and places. Easy to be in and maintain.
PERSONAL GARDEN
I began experimenting with plants that were friendly to wildlife in my personal garden. Many were native, all- were Florida Friendly. I am always adding, tweaking and removing, but it’s about 90% Florida native plants, versus 90% ornamentals at move in 15 years ago.

I had nature childlike wonder moments daily.
Hummingbirds, bumblebees and butterflies flew nearby. I smelled flowers, crushed herbs and felt the soft ground beneath my bare feet. My mind opened and stress dissipated when I walked in my nature garden. I had a calling and mission to share.
My mission is to connect people to the healing power of nature in their own yards.
This new, easy Nature Garden is not hard. You just need a helping hand to know which plants will thrive in your particular yard and how to design your outdoor spaces in your favorite landscape design style.
Specific plants bring a landscape, and its owner into a healthier, more beautiful, balanced connection with nature.
I share 40 years of experience with plants, a degree in landscape architecture, and many years installing designs to create therapeutic gardens for people to enjoy.
